It was super exciting to speak for the first time on an all-woman Panel. I painted a picture of our unique landscape here in Aotearoa and how the eclectic mix of our tangata whenua (indigenous people), our Pasifika neighbours, and the rest of the tangata Tiriti (people who are here by right of Te Tiriti o Waitangi – all other immigrants) plays out across education.
When you concentrate on reducing inequity and promoting inclusion, it really makes us quite progressive, even in a room full of educators from around the world.
